Complete Solid-Wood Kitchen, Installed, From $8,950
You’re going to let someone into your kitchen with a pry bar, so it helps to know who they work for. Kitchen Emporium is a family business in Chatsworth, and two people run it day to day: Elias Deukmajian and his daughter Natalie. It’s a small team. Here’s a little about each of them, and what customers say they did on their own projects.
Quick Takeaways
- Who runs it: Elias Deukmajian and his daughter Natalie, a father-and-daughter team.
- How it started: Elias and his brother Jerry founded the business more than 25 years ago.
- Natalie: joined in 2019 and helps run the business day to day.
- Elias: customers name him for design help, the measure and the estimate, and for seeing a job through to installation.
A family business started by two brothers
Elias Deukmajian and his brother Jerry founded Kitchen Emporium more than 25 years ago, and today Elias runs it with his daughter Natalie. That’s the short history. The company holds California contractor license #947147. Check it yourself on the Contractors State License Board’s license lookup. It’s still one showroom on Devonshire Street, which is the place to start if you’d rather talk a kitchen through face to face than fill in a form and wait.
Natalie helps run the business day to day
Natalie joined the family business in 2019 and helps run its daily operations. Customers mention her by name. A recent customer described her taking their first call, walking them through the showroom, and guiding them through the design and product choices that every kitchen has to settle before a single cabinet can be ordered.
Those early choices matter. They set the tone for a kitchen: the finish, the door, the countertop that sits on top of it. Getting them right before the order goes in costs a conversation, while living with the wrong one costs twenty years of looking at it.
Elias sees jobs through from design to install
Customers who write about Elias credit him with the parts of a remodel that are easiest to get wrong. Design help. The measure and the estimate. Then staying on the project once the work is underway, all the way through installation, which is exactly the stretch where plenty of remodels lose track of the person who sold them the kitchen.
Many reviews name them together. One customer credited the pair with handling the whole job, start to finish, from the first design conversation all the way to the day the installers packed up.
